Pork, pan. Accurate, and still no warning: the name does not tell you that you will be handed raw meat, a charcoal brazier and a domed grill with a moat round it.
A good example of a name that parses perfectly and describes the equipment rather than the dish. กระทะ is worth knowing on its own: it is the same word in กลิ่นกระทะ, the breath of the wok, the scorched edge a good stir-fry has, and in กระทะขนมครก, the dimpled sweet pan. Nothing in the name says all-you-can-eat, which is what you are actually buying.

The all-you-can-eat dome grill: a charcoal brazier with a moat, pork fat greasing the dome, meat grilling on top while broth bubbles round the rim cooking vegetables and noodles. Loud, smoky, absurdly cheap, and the default way Thai friend groups celebrate anything.
Spice mild You control everything; the jaew and suki sauces bring the heat.
What is in it Buffet trays: thin pork, marinated chicken, bacon, seafood, meatballs, morning glory, cabbage, glass noodles, eggs; pork fat for the dome, broth for the moat, jaew and suki dipping sauces.
Vegetarian and allergies Technically possible from the vegetable trays; socially you will be guarding your rim-moat from bacon runoff.

The buffet handles grammar for you: หมูกระทะสองที่ครับ (mǔu-grà-thá sǎwng thîi khráp), for two people. ที่ is the portion/place classifier.
A2 Make it yours
Operating phrases: ขอถ่านเพิ่ม (more charcoal), ขอน้ำซุปเติม (top up the broth), เอาหมูอีกถาด (another tray of pork). The 90-minute time limit question: กี่ชั่วโมงครับ.
B1 Talk about it
The social physics: someone always appoints themselves grill master, คนปิ้ง; teasing them, ไหม้แล้วๆ (it's burning, it's burning!), is half the fun. Declaring อิ่มมาก แต่คุ้ม (so full, but worth it) at the end is the ritual closing line.
C1 to native Own it
คุ้ม (khúm, worth-it value) is the load-bearing word of Thai buffet culture: กินให้คุ้ม, eat until it is worth it, names a whole national sport with a wink at its own absurdity. Moo krata is the temple of คุ้ม, and using the word ironically, กินจนคุ้มเกินราคา, is native-level self-aware humour.
